FreedomBank Empowers Success in Education by Donating $22,000 to Local Scholarship Funds

2023 Scholarship Donations

ELKADER, IOWA, April 17, 2023 - FreedomBank announces $22,000 in contributions to area scholarship foundations.

FreedomBank Scholarships will be awarded to a graduating high school senior at each of the following school districts: Central, MFL MarMac, Postville, Allamakee, Eastern Allamakee, and Decorah. The scholarships are made possible through FreedomBank’s annual $5,000 donation to the districts' corresponding scholarship foundations.

Additionally, FreedomBank contributed $17,000 to scholarship endowments held by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.

“We were excited to sponsor six scholarships for local students along with generously funding NICC and four area schools’ endowments,” said Kathy Mueller, president and CEO of FreedomBank. “These scholarships empower success for young adults and provide the financial assistance many students need to pursue a post-high school education. We are proud of this FreedomBank tradition. Furthermore, we believe this perpetual investment will positively impact the future of our rural workforce.”

College-bound high school seniors who have demonstrated academic success and are interested in pursuing higher education are eligible for the FreedomBank Scholarship. Consideration will be given to students with top math scores who plan to major in business, finance, or agriculture.

FreedomBank encourages high school students to contact their guidance counselor to learn how to apply for a FreedomBank Scholarship.
