Community Shred Day 2024

Donation

FreedomBank is excited to host a Community Shred Day in Elkader on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Tri-State SHRED truck will be parked in the City of Elkader lot, which is adjacent to FreedomBank at 210 South Main Street. To enter the parking lot, please use South Main Street and exit through the alley to Boardman Street. FreedomBank employees will be on-site to provide assistance during the event.

This event is free and open to anyone who needs to destroy personal documents such as old bank statements, tax returns, farm records, and credit card statements - anything that may hold personal information such as social security numbers, dates of birth, your address, and bank account numbers. Please avoid bringing magazines, newspapers, coupons, or similar items that don't contain your sensitive information.

Patrons are limited to shredding either four (4) boxes or five (5) grocery bags, which will be immediately shredded by Tri-State SHRED.

“Community Shred Day is one way we are committed to protecting individuals from identity theft by securely discarding sensitive documents. At the same time, we are helping the environment by recycling the materials into other paper products,” said Kathy Mueller, President and CEO of FreedomBank.

The truck's capacity may restrict the timeframe for collecting items for shredding. Please call FreedomBank in Elkader at (563) 245-2522 if you have questions about the Community Shred Day.
