FreedomBank has generously donated $50,000 towards the Big Four Agricultural Society's capital campaign. The campaign aims to build a new dairy barn at the Big Four Fairgrounds in Postville, Iowa. The total cost of the new dairy barn construction project is estimated to be $300,000. The barn will be a clear span of 78 feet by 120 feet long, providing an attractive display of animals during the fair season. Additionally, the barn will be available to the community for off-fair season use.

For over a century, the Big Four Fair in Postville has been serving the youth of Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, and Winneshiek counties through 4-H and FFA programs. What sets the Big Four Fair apart is that it serves as a pre-show or trial run for the youth to exhibit their agricultural products.

Mike Kruckenberg, the President of the Big Four Fair Board, stated that the increasing number of exhibitors is creating a demand for a larger dairy barn. He mentioned that in the past decade, the fair has witnessed significant growth in the number of exhibitors. During the last year, they had an additional 30 exhibitors who were just beginning their showing legacy. He also expressed his optimism for the future of 4-H and FFA participation, which looks very promising.

FreedomBank is thrilled to support the dairy barn project as a contribution to the rich history of the Big Four Fair. As a community bank that caters to the needs of our local agriculture producers, we understand the valuable lessons that our youth learn through their participation in livestock exhibits at fairs like this. We firmly believe that this early exposure will equip them for future success.

For anyone who would like to make a donation toward the fairground improvements project, please contact Mike Kruckenberg at (563) 217-0750.
